AI and Digital Tools for Climate & Ecology Education
The main goal of this Erasmus+ structured course is to empower educators to use AI and digital tools to foster environmental literacy. Participants will learn to create interactive multimedia materials that help students visualize climate change, analyze ecological data, and develop a holistic understanding of sustainability. The curriculum aligns with the Education 2030 Agenda.
Description
This 7-day structured course equips educators, trainers, and youth workers with practical skills to integrate Artificial Intelligence and digital tools into climate change and ecology education. Through hands-on workshops, outdoor fieldwork, and transnational collaboration, participants will learn to design, create, and deliver engaging, multilingual, and ethically grounded environmental learning materials for learners ranging from pre-school to secondary and VET levels.
Set in Belek, Antalya, the course combines classroom-based digital skills training with real-world ecological fieldwork and a visit to a local Turkish school, grounding AI applications in authentic educational and environmental contexts. The course culminates in transnational group projects — a Climate Manifesto, a multilingual digital magazine, and a virtual biodiversity exhibition — presented to peers and certified under the Europass Mobility framework.
The course is designed as an interactive process. The format of the course is didactic, experiential, and interactive along with discussions, individual and team exercises. The focus is on experiential learning and workshop approaches, lectures and group discussions. One of the delivery methods during the course is the simulation of real lessons. The simulations will be accompanied by discussions on different scenarios of delivering the training sessions suggested by the participants. The course is designed in a way that it offers pre-school and school teachers several beneficial activities for their professional development in the fields of ICT, AI and multimedia creating. Sharing: Participants share experiences and expertise on the topic and learn from each other. Collaborative workshops: Working in groups on a learning scenario, pedagogical situation plans and other learning resources to be used in the own kindergarten. The training team is multinational, who have participated in the design of the educational materials and previous teacher training sessions within Erasmus+ KA1 and KA2 projects.

Duration of the course - 7 days.
Fee for tuition and materials: 560 euro.
(This is covered with the course fee that you get with your grant: 80 euro per day).

Course Details and program
The standard program comprises 7 days. The first day is dedicated to getting to know each other by learning icebreaker activities, to the course topic introduction, hands-on activity on login to the course online classroom. The last day is about follow up, individual consultations – instructions on how to implement the suggested training with pupils, how to seek and receive support from mentors and at the end certificates ceremony. Participants are expected to arrive one day before the start of the course and leave one day after the end. The host organization will also organize:
• visit to a local school/kindergarten in Antalya to explore the good practices of education in Turkiye.

Day 5: School Visit & AI Ethics
9:00 Outdoor activity – Visit to a local Turkish school/kindergarten to observe environmental education and AI and digital tools implementation.

Day 6: Collaborative Eco-Projects
10:30 - 11:00: Workshop: Using AI for group projects. Participants practice creating digital ecology magazines or virtual exhibitions.
11:00 - 12:30: Hands-On Session: "The AI Eco-Innovation Challenge" (Participants work in groups).
Objective: To work in transnational groups using AI tools to create a comprehensive digital "Climate Action" campaign for your home school or kindergarten.
Group Task 1: Visualizing the Future (Pre-school & Primary Focus)
Task: Create a "Climate Manifesto" for young learners.
AI Integration:
Use AI to draft a simplified poem or story about protecting the Mediterranean ecosystem.
Use AI or Copilot to illustrate the story with vibrant, AI-generated images of a "Green Belek".
Use or similar AI voice tools to narrate the manifesto for non-reading pupils.
Group Task 2: The "Green School" Digital Magazine (Secondary & VET Focus)
Task: Co-create a multilingual digital magazine highlighting local ecological solutions in Turkiye and your home country.
AI Integration:
Use AI to research and translate articles on solar energy or waste management.
Use Canva (Magic Design) to layout the magazine and generate infographics.
Use Microsoft Translator to ensure the magazine is accessible to all partner schools in their native languages.
Group Task 3: Virtual Biodiversity Exhibition
Task: Design a virtual exhibition of endangered local species collected during the Day 2 outdoor activity.
AI Integration:
Each school uploads photos taken in Ancient Antalya.
Use AI tools to organize, categorize, and visualize the data into a 3D virtual gallery.
Create AI-generated interactive "quizzes" (using Quizizz) to engage exhibition visitors

Notes:
Participants are required to bring their ownlaptops.
The outdoor workshop and the visit to a local school or kindergarten involve an additional fee per participant.
Optionally, one evening may include a group visit to the Land of Legends night show (no entrance fee), depending on participants' interest. A shared transfer will be arranged, and each participant will cover their own transportation cost.

- • Connect AI-supported teaching with experiential, outdoor learning, using real-world ecological data and field observations.
- • Build international networks with educators and organizations for future collaboration on AI-enhanced climate education.
